Evidence-Based prevention programs are used to:
Educate youth and adult participants about the negative physical, emotional, and social consequences of at risk behaviors and lifestyles
Teach participants the tools and skills needed to challenge misconceptions and to refuse alcohol, tobacco or other drugs, or other unhealthy choices that may be presented to them
Allow the individual to evaluate personal decision-making skills, analyze problem situations and make informed and safe choices when making a decision
Provide social skills training that will encourage communication and empower each individual to seek assistance when needed
